Why to join the Wynantskill Fire Department
WFD is always looking for new members in the Wynantskill area to help carry on the traditions of safekeeping the community and the honor of being a firefighter.
Generally, the fire department responds to three types of emergency calls: Medical calls, Fire-related calls, and Service to Community.
Firefighters have the option to specialize in any or all of the following:

CPR
Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
Medic
Exterior Firefighter
Interior Structural Firefighter
Fire Apparatus Driver
Pump Operator |
Fire Police
Hazardous Material Specialist
Heavy Rescue Specialist
High Angle Rescue Specialist
Vehicle Extrication Specialist
Rescue Boat Driver
Underwater (SCUBA) Rescue Technician

How to Join
In PersonStop by any Tuesday evening between 7:00PM and 9:00PM. Every Tuesday is a drill, except for the first Tuesday of the month which is the Membership Meeting. You can view our activities calendar here.
